I am a second degree candidate, studying Secondary Education-Mathematics. This is my first semester back to school in 9 years. When I started this program I had one young child, and during the program our second child came along. Due to his medical concerns I had to choose to leave the program and be home for him. With my child now old enough to be more self sufficient, I am now back at RIC to finish what I started and become fully certified in both Middle and High School. This week has felt like a month to me, it's been a long time since I sat on the other side of the desk and it was slow going to get up and running again. I struggled to get back into the rhythm, but found fast friends in classmates who were willing to share their knowledge ( and email addresses!). I am really looking forward to the semester.

I am a mother of 4 children ages 3,7,10 and 13, two girls and two boys. I also work as a musician part time. With a family, school, and part time work there really isn't much room for anything else! We are a close family, and do a lot of camping with our friends and their families. I love the simplicity of camping, although we do it in a travel trailer, I'm not that rustic!
